KATHRYN WILLIAMS
MOREHEAD CITY -- Kathryn Looney Williams, formerly of Goldsboro and Fayetteville, died Sunday, Feb. 6, at her home in Morehead City.
Mrs. Williams was born July 2, 1928, in Lauderdale County, Alabama.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m.. at the First Presbyterian Church in Morehead City with the Reverend Timothy Havlicek officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Internment will be on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery in Goldsboro.
Mrs. Williams served as general manager of Walnut Creek Country Club in Goldsboro, Highland Country Club in Fayetteville, and The Dunes Club in Atlantic Beach. She was active in the First Presbyterian Church, Beaufort Historical Association, the Carteret Arts Forum, Coastal Jazz, the Beaufort Garden Club, Crystal Coast Duplicate Bridge Club, and many other civic organizations.
She is survived by her daughters, Isabelle W. "Brownie" Doss and husband, Jimmy, of Goldsboro and Mary W. Brunner and husband, Lad, of St. Louis, Missouri; a son, Robert Johnston Williams IV of Fayetteville; her grandchildren: James, William, and Charlie Doss; Paul Brunner; and R.J., Palmer, and Caroline Williams.
She was married to the late Robert Johnston Williams III of Goldsboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 1604 Arendell Street, Morehead City, N.C., 28557; or to First Presbyterian Church, 1101 E. Ash St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
