Sonya Herring Mooneyham, 40, of Clayton, died Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.
The funeral will be held tonight at 7 in the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont. The Reverend Craig Langston will officiate. A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Eureka Cemetery.
She is survived by her father, James Roy Herring, and his wife, Jean, of Goldsboro; her mother, Ruby Howell of Wilson; one son, Christopher Howell of the home; one daughter, Christy Michelle Howell of Wilson; one sister, Wanda Quinn and husband, Alan, of Tarboro; her paternal grandmother, Dorothy Herring of Goldsboro; and paternal grandfather, Monroe Herring and wife, Frances, of Asheboro.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ransom and Mary Ann Howell.
The family will receive friends at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home following the service tonight, and other times at the home of her mother, Ruby Howell, 4737 Stantonsburg Road, Wilson, N.C., 27893.
