JOYCE SOUTHARD
EAST BEND -- Joyce Colie Southard, 62, died Sunday at Forsyth Medical Center.
She was born in Wayne County to Sherman and Lola Colie. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher, a choir member and supported other church activities and committees. She retired from R.J. Reynolds in 1992. She and her husband owned and operated Triangle TV and Satellite and Custom Framing located in East Bend.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Sonny Gray Southard of the home; two sons, Chris Southard of Lewisville and Michael Southard of East Bend; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Wooten of East Bend and Jane Bradshaw of Fremont; and two brothers, Tom H. Colie of Kinston and John F. Colie of Fremont, NC.
The funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church with the Reverends Chris Byrne, Danny Poindexter and Anthony Gordy officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Huff Funeral Home in East Bend.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice
