EDWIN BLANCHARD
WARSAW -- Edwin Lee Blanchard, 83, died Friday at Glencare Nursing Home in Warsaw.
Born October 1921 to the late Joshua J. Blanchard and Margaret Lourene Darden Blanchard of Duplin County, Mr. Blanchard was the husband of the late Atlee Frederick Blanchard.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Blanchard and Linwood Blanchard; and two sisters, Louise Frederick and Mary Grey Frederick.
He is survived by five children, Edwin J. Blanchard, Betty Gail B. Purdee of Warsaw, Kelly B. Chestnutt of Clinton, Brenda B. Sheffield of Magnolia, and Lorraine B. Jackson of Beulaville; one brother, J.C. Blanchard of Warsaw; one sister, Pat Onofrey of Cleveland, Ohio; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
A service was held Saturday evening at 7 at Community Chapel, Community Funeral Home in Warsaw. The Rev. Steve Cayton officiated. Visitation followed the service. Family and friends will be received other times at the home of Edwin Blanchard, 306 Charlie Frederick Road, Warsaw.
Graveside services will be today at 2 p.m. at Devotional Gardens, Highway 24/50 East, Warsaw.
