ROY HOUSTON
PINK HILL -- Roy James Houston, 84, died Tuesday at Guardian Care in Kenansville.
The funeral will be held tonight at 7 in the chapel of Community Funeral Home in Beulaville. A graveside service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Brown Cemetery in Pink Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Lillie B. Houston of Pink Hill; two daughters, Hilda Southerland of Chinquapin and Sue Atkinson of Burlington; four sons, Rayburn Houston, Leroy Houston and Sherall Houston of Pink Hill and Dewey Houston of Mount Olive; seven sisters, Vader Thigpen, Rena Kennedy, Erma Quinn, Beatrice Sumner, Hazel Kennedy, and Lois Kennedy, all of Pink Hill and Bonnie Wilson of Charlotte; two brothers, Lawrence Houston and Lester Houston, both of Pink Hill; and 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service tonight.
