EFFIE L. SIMMONS
KINSTON -- Effie Lee Simmons, 79, died Tuesday at her home.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Peter Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, with Pastor Tyrone Haney officiating. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
Surviving are four daughters, JoAnn Gooding of LaGrange and Marjorie Fuller, Darrlyn Redmond and Deloris Collins of Kinston; six sons, Willie Simmons of Goldsboro, Jerome Simmons, Kenneth Simmons, Paul Simmons, and Chuckie Simmons of Kinston and Stephone Simmons of Dover; and 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The viewing hours will be from 2 until 8 today at Albritton-Carraway Funeral Home and the family will be there to receive friends from 7 until 8. At other times, the family will be at 1525 Parker Street.
