VEKAS HADZIJAHIC
MOUNT OLIVE -- Vekas Hadzijahic, 19, of 806 Ann St., died Thursday afternoon, at his home.
Born May 4, 1985, in Gorazde, Bosnia, he moved to Mount Olive with his family seven years ago. He was a member of the 2004 graduating class of Southern Wayne High School.
He is survived by his mother, Slavica Spasojevic Hadzijahic of the home; a brother, Vidzdan Hadzijahic of the home; his fiancé, Stacy Carter, of Goldsboro; an uncle and aunt, Slavko and Gordana Spasojevic of Goldsboro; two cousins, Sandra Spasojevic and Darjan Spasojevic, both of Goldsboro; uncles, Mehmed Hadzijahic and Miralem Hadzijahic and their families of Bosnia, and Slavko Mutlak and his family of Goldsboro; his church family at First United Methodist Church of Mount Olive, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Muhamed Hadzijahic, in 2001.
Friends will be received at the family's residence, 806 Ann St., in Mount Olive.
A celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m. today by the graveside in Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive. Dr. H. Dennis Draper Jr. will officiate.
