MARIE BARNES
Marie Barnes, 78, of 902 Canal St. died Thursday at Davita Dialysis Center.
Mrs. Barnes was born in Wayne County on Aug. 23, 1926, to the late John Tyner and Julia Tyner-Hill. She was a retired Wayne County educator.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, John Thomas Barnes of the home; a son, Donald M. Barnes of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Oretha Watkins of Hampton, Va.; and a granddaughter, Crystal M. Barnes.
No formal service will be held.
The family will receive friends this afternoon from 2:30 until 3:30 at Hamilton Funeral Chapel.
