MARTHA WHALEY
Martha Jones Whaley, 89, died Thursday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston.
A native of Johnston County, Mrs. Whaley was the daughter of the late Jasper Floyd Jones and Bettie Langston Jones and was the widow of Tony Whaley. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Joy Faye Whaley of Kinston; one son, Jackie Tony Whaley, and his wife, Dorothy, of Goldsboro; two sisters, Letha Watson, and her husband, Edward Vann, of Lucama and Peggy Holloman and her husband, Robert, of Princeton; one brother, Willard Jones, and his wife, Betty, of Chicago, Ill.; one foster brother, Ralph Jones of Greenville, Tenn.; and four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Sauls officiating.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 until 7:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
