LEWIS CARTER
TURKEY -- Lewis Franklin Carter, 84, of 7662 Turkey Highway, died Wednesday at Sampson Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Turkey Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Devotional Gardens in Warsaw.
Mr. Carter was a native of Sampson County and was the son of the late Owen Lee Carter and Bertha Smith Carter. He was a member of Turkey Baptist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife, Jerutha Carter of the home; a daughter, Judy Ruddle of Turkey; three brothers, Clarence O. Carter of Fayetteville, Herbert L. Carter of Lake Norman and Vernon Carter of Mount Olive; one sister, Ethelene C. Swisher of Goldsboro; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home in Clinton, and other times at the residence.
