SEVEN SPRINGS -- Jewel Lanada "Judy" Ward Gibson, of 647 Drummersville Road, died Sunday at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Seven Springs Baptist Church, of which she was a member. The Rev. Ashley Summerlin will officiate. Interment will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Seven Springs Community Cemetery.
Mrs. Gibson was born in Glen Alpine, N.C., and was the daughter of Annie Poteat of Black Mountain and the late Dewey Poteat and the late Willard and Eva Viola Denny Ward.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Gibson is survived by her husband, Phillip George Gibson; her children, Cindy Jones of Seven Springs, Thomas Whaley of Beaufort, Michelle Hall of Seven Springs, Phillip Gibson of Kinston, Carey Gibson of Wilmington and Kristin Gibson of Greenville; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, and nine sisters.
The family will receive friends Wednesday following the service at the church and other times at the residence. Arrangements are with Rouse Funeral Home, LaGrange, NC.
Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Seven Springs Baptist Church Prayer Garden, 5924 East NC 55 Hwy., Seven Springs, N.C., 28578.
