DOROTHY SHEPARD
HOLLY RIDGE -- Dorothy Lewis Shepard, 87, mother of James Shepard of Goldsboro, died Sunday at Britthaven of Onslow.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church, where she was a charter member. The Rev. Bill Davis and Dr. Al Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Shepard Family Cemetery.
Mrs. Shepard was the widow of Buren H. Shepard and the daughter of the late Rudolph L. and Jessie Sykes Lewis.
In addition to her son, she is survived by three daughters, Geraldine Joy Thomas and Jessie Ottaway of Verona and Edna Branch of Lumberton; another son, David B. Shepard of Jacksonville; a sister, Edna Lewis of Jacksonville; and 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 272 Hardison Road, Holly Ridge.
Jones Funeral Home in Holly Ridge is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
