LINEY F. SORRELL
Liney Franks Sorrell, 91, died Thursday at the Brian Center in Goldsboro.
Liney was born July 30, 1912 in Craven County and was the daughter of the late Hugh and Hattie Smith Franks. She was a member of the Tabernacle Holiness Church in Vanceboro and she loved to crochette and quilt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Sorrell in 1961.
A gathering to celebrate her life will be today at 2:30 p.m. at Shackleford Funerals and Cremations in Fremont. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont. The family received friends Saturday from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home of Robert Sorrell. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Tabernacle Holiness Church, Vanceboro.
Mrs. Sorrell is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Robert S. and Hazel Sorrell of Fremont, James D. and Dorothy Sorrell of Wilson, and Vernon S. and Shirley Sorrell of LaGrange; sisters, Fannie Morris and Agnes Simpson both of Vanceboro; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and special caregivers, Evelyn and Sandra.
Arrangements are by Shackleford Funerals and Cremations, 102 N. Pine St., Fremont.
