GRACE E. DAVIS
MOUNT OLIVE -- Grace E. Davis, 79, of 228 West Park Avenue, Mount Olive, passed from this earth on Thursday, June 10, 2004, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
She was born January 31, 1925, in Sampson County to the late Claude and Minnie Tew Bass. She was the widow of H.L. "Bud" Davis.
She is survived by three sons, Donald L. Davis and his wife, Jane, of Winterville, Ronnie R. Davis and his wife, Sue, of Mount Olive, and Michael L. Davis and his wife, Catina, of Rosewood; a daughter, Judy D. Vernon and her husband, Jim, of Rosewood; five grandchildren, Jeff Vernon and his wife, Leann, and Jason Vernon, all of Rosewood, Sara Davis and Dana Davis, both of Winterville, and Brette Davis of Mount Olive; two great-grandchildren, Conner Vernon and Gabe Vernon, both of Rosewood; two brothers, the Rev. Elwood Faircloth of High Point and Earl Faircloth of Sophia; and several nieces and nephews and special friends.
A service in celebration of her life will be held Saturday at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive conducted by the Rev. Ira Williford. The family will remain at the funeral home following the service to receive friends; at other times, they will be at the residence. A committal service and interment will be on Sunday at 2 p.m. in Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive.
Flowers are welcome; however, memorials may be directed to one's favorite charity.
