DORIS MOSELEY
Doris "Pudge" Foster Moseley, 72, of the Grantham community near Mount Olive, and formerly of Raleigh, lost a brave battle with cancer and died June 6th, 2004, at the Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
She is survived by her daughters, Hazel Ann Moseley of Mount Olive, Linda M. Green of Hubert and Donna M. Wilkes of Apex, twelve grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Her sisters, Faye McNeal of Caribou, Maine, Dorothy King of Chesapeake, Virginia, Nell Foster of Cassville, New York and June Boone of Norfolk, Virginia, also survive her along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her son, Michael O'Neal Moseley, her former husband, Thomas B. Moseley III, and sisters, Ruth McCoy of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Louise Ingram of Norfolk, Virginia.
Doris was employed in the hotel industry most of her adult life and worked for several years at the Governor's Inn in Research Triangle Park and the Hilton Inn in Raleigh. She was blessed with a talent for sewing and spent many hours making doll clothes for the children at the Ronald McDonald House in Greenville for Christmas gifts. She also had a strong love for flowers and plants and enjoyed spending time taking care of them when she could. She will best be remembered for her sunny smile and quick wit, her love of beach music and her willingness to always do what she could to help someone in need.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 7th, 2004, at 7 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home in Goldsboro.
Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Dr., Greenville N.C., 27834; or the Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service, and other times at 439 Crows Foot Road in Mount Olive.
