FREMONT -- George McLean, 97, of 606 Sycamore St., died Sunday night at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at New Bethel Free Will Baptist Church. The Rev. Edmond Edwards and Bishop L.N. Forbes will officiate. Burial will be in Fremont Cemetery.
Mr. McLean was the son of the late Brown and Annie Blue McLean and was a retired railroad employee.
He is survived by one son, Steve Barnes of Fremont; three daughters, Hattie McLean of Fremont, Lila Pearl Coley of New York and Betty Ford of Goldsboro; one sister, Lucille Williams of Goldsboro; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The viewing will be on Friday from 4 until 8 p.m. at Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel in Fremont, and the family will be present from 7 until 8 p.m.
