The funeral for James Lynburg "Poobie" Newsome Jr. will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Greenleaf Christian Church. The Rev. Joe Barnes will officiate. Burial will be in Old Mill Cemetery.
Mr. Newsome is survived by five sisters, Constance Lesesence and Mary Harvey of Goldsboro, Sharon Flanagan of Dudley, Shirley Jones of Norfolk, Va., and Earline McClarin of Hampton, Va.; and two brothers, Benjamin Newsome of Norfolk Va., and Cedrick Troublefield of Dale City, Va.
The viewing hours will be from 2 until 7 p.m. today at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., and the family will be there to receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m.
