WILBUR FIELDS
SNOW HILL -- Wilbur William Fields, 88, died Wednesday at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
The funeral will be held Friday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service. The Reverends Carolyn Cummings-Woriax and T.C. West will officiate. The committal service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hill Family Cemetery on East Hill Road near Goldsboro.
Mr. Fields was a retired farmer and a member of Jerusalem United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Earl Hill Fields; sons, Alton Fields and wife, Barbara, of LaGrange and William "Stem" Fields and wife, Betty Jo, of Snow Hill; sisters, Carrie Mae Dawson of Goldsboro, Ethelene Lane of Pinetops, Frances Ellis of Roanoke, Va., and Emma Lee Pate of Goldsboro; a sister-in-law, Janie Fields of Pikeville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Fields, and a sister, Gladys Hill.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service on Friday night, and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Fields, 3752 Hwy. 13 South.
