PEARLE S. HILL
DUDLEY -- Pearle Summerlin Hill, 80, of 3609 Hwy. 117 Alt., died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Archie and Carrie Bartlett Johnson and wife of the late Lester Summerlin and Wendell Hill. She was the mother of the late George Summerlin and sister to the late Leslie Johnson, Myrtle Reeves and Ethel Keel. A former employee of Barry's of Goldsboro, she was a representative with Stanley Products and a member of Eureka Christian Church. She was a lifetime member of the Family Y and a member of the Woodman of the World, Grantham Lodge #481.
The funeral will be held Friday at 4 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Purvis and the Rev. Shirley Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Hill is survived by a son and daughters-in-law, James and Nancy Summerlin of Goldsboro, and Dawn Summerlin of Pikeville; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and James Dills of Dudley; grandchildren, Jamie and Nichole Summerlin, Jonathan and Kim Summerlin, Martha Summerlin, Beth Bauguess, Ricky Dills, Heather and Kevin Flora, Wesley Dills, Steven and Amy Summerlin, Sharon and Tommy Hardison; great grandchildren, Skyler Summerlin, Hunter Summer-lin, Breanna Summerlin, Kristina Summerlin, Victoria Summerlin and Lauren Hardison; and her special companions, Pretty Girl, Berkeley & Angel, and a special caregiver, Sandra Lofton.
