JOSEPH L. EVERY
Joseph Lloyd Every, 73, of 313 Norlee Drive, died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A native of El Reno, Oklahoma, he was the son of the late Joseph Walter Every and Eunice Dillingham Every. Mr. Every served in the United States Marines for four years during the Korean Conflict and later retired as a staff sergeant with the United States Air Force, serving in the medical supply division. He was also retired from E.I. DuPont.
Mr. Every had been a member of Adamsville Baptist Church since 1968 and was currently serving as a deacon.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Pat Kilby officiating. Interment will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with full military honors.
Mr. Every is survived by his wife, Shirley Spell Every; two daughters, JoAnne Every Crow of Goldsboro and Teresa Every Price and husband, Lyal Wayne Price II, of Goldsboro; one half brother, Lorus Alonzo Heffron of Antlers, Okla.; one half sister, Jessie Pyron of Hobart, Okla.; his grandchildren, Christy Wade Parrish and husband, David, Tiffany Nicole Price, April Brianna Crow, Michael Allen Crow II and Taylor Ray Price; his great-grandchildren, Phillip Clay Martin and Joshua Cody Martin all of Goldsboro; his mother-in-law, Cecile Spell of Smithfield; two stepdaughters, Sherrie Bridgers Stanley and husband, Billy, of Smithfield and Zelda Tedder of Princeton; one stepson, Danny Bridgers of Smithfield; and his step-grandchildren, Shannon Starling, Brooks West, Leah West, Gavin Trey Smith, and one step-great-grandson, Bryson Griffin.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Peggy Lee Every, mother of JoAnne and Teresa. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Howard Every; a half-brother, Glen Murrell Heffron and John William Every; and a half sister, Margaret Overton.
Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to Adamsville Baptist Church, 1302 N. Berkeley Blvd., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday following the funeral service, and other times at the residence.
