HUGH COLEY
Hugh Coley, 72, of Oxon Hill, Md., formerly of Eureka, died Saturday, March 6, at St. Thomas More Nursing Rehab Center in Hyattsville, Md.
He was born on Jan. 17, 1932, in Wayne County to the late Russell Coley Sr. and Minnie Becton Coley. He worked at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., for several years before retiring. In addition to his parents, his brothers, Russell Coley Jr. and Robert Becton, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his daughter, Brenda Brinson and her husband, Linwood Brinson Sr., and two grandchildren, Makala and Linwood Brinson Jr., of Goldsboro; one aunt, Leona Becton of Washington, D.C.; and a devoted friend, Magerthia Futrell of Oxon Hill, Md.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Eureka. The Rev. Odell Forte will officiate. Burial will be in Becton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7:15 until 8:15 at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, and other times at 208 Olive St., Goldsboro.
