EDWARD I. CREECH

MOUNT OLIVE -- Edward Ivey Creech, 72, of 887 Country Club Rd., died Saturday morning at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston.

Born in Du-plin County, he was the son of the late Caleb and Emma Summerlin Creech. He was a retired mechanic having worked with Swinson's Garage in Mount Olive. He was a member of the Cricket Ridge Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Cricket Ridge Church with the Rev. Elbert Hollowell officiating. Burial will be in the Pate Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Coker Creech of the home; a daughter, Rita Locklear of Mount Olive; two sons, Ronnie Creech and his wife Jacqueline of Mount Olive and Shelton Creech of Pikeville; three sisters, Beatrice Kornegay and Frances Weeks, both of Baltimore, Maryland, and Stella Wade of Salisbury, Maryland; eight grandchildren, Melissa Locklear, Bridgette Coker Hilario, Michelle Creech, Ronnie Lee Creech, Duane Locklear, Brian Creech, Paula Locklear and Terry Creech; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret C. Williamson; three brothers, Raymond Creech, Carl Creech and Alonza Creech; and an infant sister.

The family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home today from 7 until 9 p.m. At other times, they will be at the Ronnie Creech home, 558 Country Club Rd.
