HAMPSTEAD -- George Francis Hodges, 78, of 763 Driftwood Drive, died Thursday at his daughter's home in Autryville.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home with Pastor Don Myers officiating. Interment will be in Mathis Family Cemetery.
Mr. Hodges was a native of Sampson County and was the son of the late Fuller Hodges and Helen Mathis Hodges. He was a retired farmer and a member of Chapel By the Bay in Surf City where he served on the building committee and the board of directors.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Flowers Hodges; two daughters, Kay Hodges Wells of Goldsboro and Gail Hodges Langston of Autryville; a son, Pete Hodges of Selma; a brother, Paul Hodges of Lumberton; and eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home in Clinton, and other times at 460 Fox Run Lane in Autryville.
