Information sessions for Wayne Community College Workforce Continuing Education's fall nail, hair and cosmetology courses will be held in the next few weeks.
Anyone interested in enrolling in natural hair care, nail technology or cosmetology classes must attend a free hourlong information session at 5:30 p.m. on July 30, Aug. 6, or Aug. 20. Those who choose to take a class will be pre-registered during the information session.
The sessions will be held at Circle of Love Academy, 409 Stanley Chapel Church Road in Dudley, which will also be the class location.
The natural hair care and the nail technology classes will run 9 a.m.-2:15 p.m., Monday-Thursday, Aug. 27-Dec. 20.
Cosmetology Part I (of three parts necessary to complete the required hours for licensure) will be taught 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Thursday, Aug. 27-Jan. 10, 2019.
Cost for each class is $180 tuition plus a kit specific to each course, uniform and any related books. Detail about expenses will be provided at the information session.
These courses provide hours in an approved program students are required to have before applying to the State Board of Cosmetic Arts for examination.
A high school diploma or equivalent is not required to take these classes.
