Military family to receive new home

Wade Jurney Homes and Operation Homefront are awarding their third home in two years to a military family in Wilson in September.
Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit organization that provides homes for military families and has awarded more than 600 homes in the last five years. Nearly 500 families have received homeownership training through the organization and are able to live in mortgage-free homes.
"Having a safe and secure place to call home is a critical factor in helping our military families have the opportunity to thrive, not simply struggle to get by, in the communities they have worked so hard to protect," said retired Brig. Gen. John I. Pray Jr., president and chief executive officer for Operation Homefront.
"Simply put, it will be life-changing."
The nonprofit was founded in 2002 and provides financial assistance, transitional and permanent housing and family support services for military families.
Wade Jurney Homes is a company that builds affordable homes throughout the Carolinas. They have partnered with Operation Homefront to build two homes for veteran families in Salisbury and Holly Ridge.

"Partnering with Operation Homefront gives us the ability to build a new home for those who have given so much for us. We are excited to donate our third home in two years to a military family and look forward to welcoming them into their new home soon."
Operation Homefront will select the recipient of the near 1,000-square-foot, three-bedroom, two bathroom home, which includes a one-car garage, as part of its Homes on the Homefront program.
