Fourth of July closings and celebrations

Local, state and federal offices, banks and post offices will be closed Wednesday, July 4, in observance of the Fourth of July holiday.
The News-Argus office will be closed July 4, and there will be no newspaper that day.
All Wayne County offices and the landfill will be closed on Wednesday.
Goldsboro city offices will be closed. There will be no bulk pickup this week.
Mount Olive town offices will be closed as will the town's Recyclable Center that will re-open on Friday, July 6, at 8 a.m.
Household garbage and yard waste pickup will not be affected.
Anyone who has a water or sewer emergency, should call 919-658-5031 and select option 2 to be connected with dispatch.
Town offices will be closed in Eureka, Fremont, Pikeville and Walnut Creek.
No town services will be affected other than in Fremont where recyclables will be picked up on Thursday, July 5.
Wooten Garbage Service will be closed. The Wednesday schedule will be run on Thursday, July 5, and Thursday's schedule on Friday, July 6.
In Goldsboro, fireworks will be held at Berkeley Mall beginning at 9 p.m. July 4. The fireworks display is sponsored by Berkeley Mall.
Fourth of July festivities will be held at Westbrook Park in Mount Olive starting at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4.
The event will start with the national anthem and Pledge of Allegiance.
There will be free watermelon, hot dogs and water. There will also be live entertainment.
"We celebrate the Fourth of July in the park with the community for everybody to come out and have a good timed enjoy the day," said Tommy Brown, president of the Mount Olive Exchange Club, which sponsors the event.
The fireworks display will be at dusk on Tuesday, July 3, at the Mount Olive Industrial Park on the Old Mount Olive Highway just north of town.
