The N.C. Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal motorcycle wreck that happened Friday afternoon near the Wilson County line.
Michael Paul Perry, 36, of 171 Wilson Road, Fremont, was traveling south on Hooks Road near N.C. 222 when the 2016 Yamaha motorcycle, registered to Tyler Ray Peeden of Kenly, ran off of the road to the right and struck a ditch, which caused Perry to be ejected, said Trooper Jose Reyes, with the N.C. Highway Patrol.
Perry was wearing a helmet, but did not have a motorcycle license, Reyes said.
Speeding is not believed to be a factor in the wreck. Neither alcohol nor drug use have been determined at this time.
