Woman charged with soliciting an undercover officer for sex

Full SizeA woman was arrested after soliciting an undercover Goldsboro police officer for sex.
According to a press release, Laketta Shawntel Williams, 29, of 602 W. Mulberry St., flagged down an undercover officer on Wednesday. The incident took place in the area of Leslie Street and Walnut Street.
Williams was arrested and charged with solicitation of prostitution and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested and placed in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $2,000 secured bond. Williams is scheduled to appear in court on June 26.
The police department said in a statement, that the arrest is part of an ongoing effort to increase patrol and enforcement action in this area of the city following several citizen complaints of prostitution, drug consumption and sales. Officers with the Selective Enforcement Unit and Gang Suppression Unit took part in the investigation and arrest.
