North Carolina for Military Employment (NC4ME) will host a military hiring event Wednesday and Thursday, May 2 and 3, at Heritage Hall on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.
Veterans, transitioning service members, spouses, guardsmen and reservists are invited to attend the event. North Carolina-based employers that are dedicated to hiring military talent are also encouraged to register vacant or available positions.
Although registration is not required, those who pre-register will be given first priority for scheduled interviews.
It will include an optinal networking social from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on May 2 that will provide childcare options.
The May 3 event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
All of this is made possible by Seymour Johnson AFB, University of Mount Olive, NCWorks Career Center, Wayne County Development Alliance, Wayne County Community College and Wayne County Chamber of Commerce.
With nearly 20,000 service members transitioning out of North Carolina military installations this year alone, NC4ME's relatively new initiative is a breath of fresh air for service members and companies alike.
NC4ME takes an employer-centric approach to strengthening the flow of military talent into North Carolina's businesses with one goal -- to make North Carolina the No. 1 state for military employment.
