The Goldsboro Police Department is asking to hear from anyone who might have witnessed a head-on collision on Harding Drive Monday that sent five people, including two children, to the hospital with serious injuries.
James Lee Morrison, 22, of 4357 Norline Drive, was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu north on Harding Drive just before 6 p.m. when he struck a 2016 Toyota RAV4 head-on, said Capt. LeAnn Rabun.
The driver of the Toyota, Man Ho Li, 36, of 181 Titleist Drive, was driving south on Harding Drive with his wife, Wngyan Lui, 38, and two children, ages 6 and 1, when his vehicle was struck by the Chevrolet Malibu.
Lui and her two children were transported to UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill where they remain in stable condition, Rabun said.
The extent of their injuries is unknown, Rabun said. Heavy rain Monday prevented the children from being flown to UNC Hospital.
Li suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from Wayne UNC Health Care. Morrison was transported by medical personnel to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
He suffered internal injuries and is being treated at the hospital, Rabun said.
Morrison is facing charges including driving while impaired, driving while license revoked, failure to maintain lane control and four counts of felonious serious injury by motor vehicle. Rabun said the charges will be filed once Morrison is released from the hospital.
Goldsboro police have not determined if speed was a factor in the accident and have not determined the rate of speed of the vehicles. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
Anyone with information about the wreck is asked to contact Rabun at 580-4272.
