One person taken to hospital after wreck on U.S. 70

Police divert traffic along U.S. 70 near Wayne Memorial Drive after a wreck this morning involving farm equipment.

The Jeep Cherokee involved in a wreck on U.S. 70 this morning sits in an embankment.

A wreck this morning on U.S. 70 involving farm equipment resulted in one person being taken to the hospital.

Goldsboro police responded to a vehicle crash that happened shortly before 10 a.m., at the exit ramp of U.S. 70 and Wayne Memorial Drive.

Two vehicles along with a piece of farm equipment were involved in the crash.

According to police, the driver of a Jeep Cherokee was traveling west on U.S. 70 East, when the driver hit the back of a piece of farm equipment then hit a passenger van traveling on the on ramp before coming to rest down an embankment.

The driver of the Jeep was taken by ambulance to Wayne UNC Health Care.

It was not known at the time of this report what the extent of the driver's injuries are.

The ramp was closed for an hour while police cleared the accident scene.

The names of the drivers involved in the crash has not been released at this time.
