A man is in custody after allegedly firing shots into the air while trespassing in a Goldsboro public housing neighborhood, according to a Goldsboro Police Department public information log.

At around 9:45 a.m. Sunday, a GPD officer responded to a call about an unidentified black man firing a shot in the caller's backyard in the 900 block of Fairview Circle. After arriving, the officer found Sir Calvin Jamez Johnson, 21, of 1605 S. Taylor St., now standing in the front yard of the residence. Police determined Johnson was previously banned from Goldsboro Housing Authority property, so the officer arrested him for trespassing.

After being detained, Johnson notified the arresting officer that he had a firearm with him. The officer located the gun, a .22 caliber revolver, in Johnson's sweatpants, along with marijuana.

Johnson was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession with intent to sell/distribute marijuana, discharging a firearm inside the city limits, carrying a concealed gun, second-degree trespassing, being intoxicated and disruptive, and littering. He was placed in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $200,000 secured bond.
