UPDATE: Victim's family asks for peace after double homicide on Second Street

The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating an early Saturday morning shooting at 605 Second Street that left two men dead and one injured.
Two men are dead and one is injured after an early morning shooting on Second Street.
Carlis Benton, 38, 707 Royall Ave., and Carlos Darden, 42, 1202 N. Center St., have been identified by police as the two deceased, and Joshua Davis, 30, of South Center Street, Mount Olive, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is currently in fair condition.
According to the police report, shots were heard fired around 2:50 a.m. and upon arrival, officers discovered multiple cars leaving the residence of 605 Second St. traveling at a high rate of speed away from the scene.
"Some of the cars were stopped and were found to be carrying victims of the shooting to the hospital," the report said.
The three men arrived at Wayne UNC Health Care in separate, private vehicles, each suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both deaths are being investigated as homicides by Goldsboro police.
"We are just seeking peace right now. We are asking every body in the community right now, all of (his) friends and loved ones, to be peaceful," said a spokesperson for Benton's family.
"We want peace right now."
