Officers found marijuana on a man after taking him to jail Sunday for driving drunk, according to a sheriff's office report filed Wednesday.

Raekwon Marquez Barnes, 20, of 104 Ervin Drive, is charged with driving while impaired, provisional DWI and felony possession of a controlled substance on jail premises.

Barns was stopped by deputies at the intersection of Ash Street and Slocumb Street.

His arrest sheet indicates his BAC was .15.

After being processed for the DWI charges, deputies took him to the Wayne County Detention Center.

Officers there searched him and found a small amount of marijuana inside a cigar package in his left pants leg, the report said.

They seized the marijuana, and levied the additional charge against him.

Barnes signed a written promise on the DWI charges, and was given a $5,000 unsecured bond for the felony drug possession charge.
