A man is facing felony charges after kicking in the door to a woman's apartment Monday morning and throwing beer on her, according to police reports.

Torrance Lee Johnson, 44, of 810 E. Walnut St., is charged with felony breaking and entering to terrorize and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Allegedly Johnson repeatedly knocked on a woman's apartment door at 607 E. Walnut St. and rang her doorbell multiple times.

When the woman did not answer, Johnson kicked in her door and threw beer on her at about 1:35 a.m. Monday, according to an incident report.

A press release said officers were called about a breaking and entering that had just happened and saw Johnson running away when they got on the scene.

The release said Johnson was found at his home at 810 E. Walnut St. and officers saw him lying beside his bed after they looked inside through his windows.

Officers got a warrant for his arrest for breaking into the woman's apartment, and then made forcible entry into his house after they asked him to surrender several times and he didn't, according to the press release.

Johnson was then arrested without incident, the release said.

He was put in the Wayne County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond.
