A man is charged with drug possession after Wayne County Sheriff's Office deputies stopped him for driving on a suspended license Wednesday, according to a sheriff's office press release.

Deputied pulled over Jonathan Nathaniel Brooks, 30, of 961 Dollardtown Road, Apt. C, while driving south on N.C. 111.

According to the release, the deputies recognized Brooks as he drove passed, and knew his license to be suspended.

Following the stop, the officers conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle, leading them to find suspected heroin, according to the release.

Brooks was charged with possession of heroin and driving while license revoked. He was given a $1,500 secured bond.
