Police are investigating nearly 30 motor vehicle break-ins reported over the weekend.

The bulk of the reported break-ins took place between Saturday night and Sunday morning on the west side of the city in a roughly one-mile radius, spanning from North Carolina Street to Astor Court.

Seven break-ins were reported in the 700 block of Astor Court, six on West Oak Street, four in the 200 block of South Center Street, four on North Virginia Street, three on North Carolina Street, two on Dupont Circle, and one each 410 W. Ash St. and 307 Murray St.

There were also several other reports over the weekend of people's car windows being broken out, but nothing being stolen from the vehicle.

In almost all of the cases where vehicles were broken into, the perpetrators entered the cars by breaking out the driver or passenger window on the vehicle.

There are no suspects in the break-ins at this time.
