Update ---- Police have identified the person arrested following Monday night's robbery/shooting outside a home on south Andrews Avenue.   According to a Goldsboro police report, Roger Alvester Geddie Jr., 16, of Four Oaks, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and robbery with a dangerous weapon. He is being held in the Wayne County Jail under a $200,000 secured bond.

Initial report --- One suspect is in custody and an unknown number of others remain on the loose following a robbery Monday night that left the victim with a bullet in his right leg.

The incident took place outside a home at the corner of  South Andrews Avenue and East Hawthorne Street at about 6:30 p.m.

Fire and EMS responded along with police to a report of man being shot. After medics walked the man to an ambulance for him to be transported to Wayne Memorial Hospital for treatment, police turned their attention to the house across the street.

Officers surrounded the home at 801 S. Andrews Ave., announced themselves and demanded the person inside "open up."

When the suspect refused, officers positioned themselves at the corners of the residence. Additional officers stationed themselves nearby. The suspect remained inside the house for more than hour with police right outside.

Capt. Leann Rabun later confirmed the officers were waiting on a search warrant before going in after the man.

"We attempted to make contact. There was no answer," she said.

"Once we determined there was someone inside and he was not going to come out, we set up perimeter and they went and got the search warrant," she said.

With the warrant now in-hand, officers in tactical gear staged further down the street and then moved in a line to the rear of the house. Officers beat on the door and yelled "search warrant" several times before breaking through door and rushing inside the home.

Within a few minutes the suspect was in custody, the lights went on inside the house and officers went about searching the home.

Rabun said the exact number of suspects was unknown at the time the one arrest was made.

"That is still under investigation," she said.

Neither the suspect in custody nor the victim had been identified at the time of this report.

Additional information is expected to be released tomorrow when the report detailing the incident is made public.
