Operation Encore nets 20 arrests

MOUNT OLIVE -- Local law enforcement agencies joined forces in Mount Olive for a sweep of alleged drug dealers Thursday, resulting in 20 arrests.
Wayne and Duplin County Sheriff's Office SWAT Teams; Goldsboro, Mount Olive and Warsaw police departments; and Wayne and Duplin County probation used warrants to arrest people who police say sold drugs to undercover officers.
With cuffed wrists and ankles, 19 men and one woman held their heads down as officers escorted them one at a time from the municipal court house to the mobile magistrate office in the back parking lot of the town's police department.
Mount Olive Police Chief Tommy Brown said the six- to eight-month investigation -- dubbed Operation Encore -- produced warrants on 38 people in the city limits, but he said word traveled quickly about the arrests after the operation began at 1:30 p.m.
Not all of the suspects were located.
Brown said his officers will enter the names and information of the 18 people not arrested Friday into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) computer index to identify them the next time they encounter law enforcement, and certainly if they sell drugs to an undercover officer in the future.
Law enforcement is concerned for the safety of innocent people who live in the neighborhoods where drugs are sold, and Brown said more operations will come if needed.
"It's the law abiding citizens out there that has to deal with the aftermath, and they shouldn't have to," Brown said.
"We want to send the message out that we're not going to stand for it. If you're going to do it in Mount Olive, we're going to continue to do these kind of operations."
The following people were arrested during Operation Encore:
* Shavon Vann, 22, possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, sell marijuana, deliver marijuana, conspire to sell and deliver marijuana, $10,000 secured bond.
* Drummont Britton, 24, two counts of selling cocaine, two counts of delivering cocaine, two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, maintain a dwelling, conspire to sell and deliver cocaine, $45,000 secured bond.
* Jamel Carter, 35, sell cocaine, deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, maintain a vehicle, $45,000 secured bond.
* Errick Mccalop, 49, two counts of selling cocaine, two counts of delivering cocaine, two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, two counts of maintaining a dwelling,, $44,000 secured bond.
* Joseph Humphrey, 37, sell marijuana, deliver marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintain a dwelling, $10,000 unsecured bond.
* Avery Fredrick, 35, two counts of selling marijuana, two counts of delivering marijuana, two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, two counts of maintaining a dwelling, $25,000 secured bond.
* Kevin Winn, 48, conspire to sell and deliver marijuana, conspire to sell and deliver cocaine, maintain a dwelling, $17,000 secured bond.
* Anthony Davis, 45, sell marijuana, deliver marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintain a dwelling, maintain a vehicle, conspire to sell and deliver cocaine, $23,000 secured bond.
* Samuel Kornegay, 38, two counts of selling cocaine, two counts of delivering cocaine, two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, conspire to sell and deliver cocaine, $45,000 secured bond.
* Brian Robinson, 26, two counts of selling marijuana, two counts of delivering marijuana, two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, sell cocaine, deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, two counts of maintaining a vehicle, $40,000 secured bond.
* Craig Brown, 27, two counts of selling cocaine, two counts of delivering cocaine, two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, $20,000 secured bond.

* Jessie Faison Jr., 23, sell marijuana, deliver marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, $5,000 unsecured bond.
* Kevin Winn Jr., 27, two counts of selling marijuana, two counts of delivering marijuana, two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, $14,000 secured bond.
* Garett Sutton, 22, sell methamphetamine, deliver methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, sell marijuana, deliver marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, conspire to sell and deliver methamphetamine, conspire to sell and deliver marijuana, $32,000 secured bond.
* Michael Meyer, 26, sell cocaine, deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, $5,000 secured bond.
* Darry Seaberry, 38, sell marijuana, deliver marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintain a dwelling, no bond listed.
* Emily Precythe, 24, conspire to sell and deliver methamphetamine, conspire to sell and deliver marijuana, maintain a vehicle, $25,000 unsecured bond.
* Kahlil Winn, 24, sell marijuana, deliver marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintain a dwelling, $6,000 secured bond.
