No one was injured Monday afternoon when a flatbed delivery truck backed into a woman's car at 1908 Stephens Court.
The wreck occurred at around 4 p.m., as the driver of the Sunbelt Rentals truck was backing out of the Stephens Court cul-de-sac and Fatimah Brinson pulled into her driveway on the right side of the street.
The rear right corner of the flatbed caught the rear left corner of Ms. Brinson's gray Honda Accord. Ms. Brinson, whose three children aged 2, 3 and 9 were in the car with her, said that the truck driver continued to slowly back up after making contact with her vehicle.
"I was honking my horn trying to get him to stop backing up, but he didn't. So I just jumped out of the car and started pulling them out," she said.
Her younger children were in car seats and she said she had to pull her 3-year-old daughter out still in the seat.
The children were uninjured, and what at first appeared to be an injury to Ms. Brinson's 2-year-old son was quickly noted to be red jello.
The truck driver had reportedly been on Stephens Court to pick up a piece of construction equipment. Sewer construction has been ongoing on Stephens Court for around two months.
