A fire was set at Rosewood Middle School over the weekend and there are currently no suspects in the case.
According to a report filed with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office this week, someone called the sheriff's office Monday to report they had seen two men pulling on the doors to the school and to the gym Saturday night.
When deputies investigated the call Monday night around 11 p.m., they found that someone had walked to the concession stand building on campus and set fire to the trash can outside the building, causing the building to start burning, the report says.
The trash can and building siding melted, and the fire charred the wood behind the siding of the building, the report says.
According to the report, the people gained access to the concession stand building through a side door and set fire to drink boxes underneath a stainless steel table, melting plastic Gatorade bottles and causing drink cans to swell and explode.
The heat from the fire melted a price sign laying on top of the table, along with several other items that were lying on the table, the report says.
According to the person that called the sheriff's office Monday to report what they had seen, the two males spotted Saturday night pulling on the doors to the school and gymnasium were roughly 14 to 16 years old. One had shoulder length blonde hair and the other had long hair, the report says.
