Multiple shots fired within city limits over the weekend

Justin Xavier Sutton, 19, allegedly grabbed his mother's 9mm handgun from her bedroom Sunday around noon and fired two shots toward her inside the house.
According to Goldsboro Police Maj. Anthony Carmen, the woman was not injured in the shooting at the home on the 200 block of Mercer Drive.
A police report said Sutton dropped the gun and left the house, and he was arrested shortly after he left. He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm in the city.
On Saturday, a shot was fired after 3 p.m. near 2006 Rose St., according to a police report. Early this morning, a shot was heard near 624 Isler St., and three shots were fired this morning at the 1200 building of Day Circle, the report said.
Carmen said early today he has no further information on the shots fired.
