Police job fair to be held Sept. 14

The Goldsboro Police Department will be holding a police job fair on Wednesday, Sept. 14, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. and again from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Goldsboro Event Center at 1501 S. Slocumb St.

The department is currently hiring police officer trainees and certified police officers.

The job fair will have officers available to talk to interested applicants, Goldsboro Human Resource personnel to discuss the online application process, and computers will be available for individuals wishing to apply.

The basic minimum requirements for employment are:

*Be 20 years of age

*Be a U.S. citizen

*Have a high school diploma or GED certificate

*Possess a valid North Carolina driver's license

*Be in good physical health

*Have vision correctable to 20/20 in both eyes with no color blindness

*Be able to successfully pass a background and criminal records check
