Johnston Ambulance Service to close tonight

Johnston Ambulance Service is shutting its doors and will no longer be accepting any transports after 7 p.m. today.
Courtney Clark, facilities coordinator and repetitive patient coordinator for Johnston Ambulance Service, confirmed that the business would no longer be accepting transports after 7 tonight.
Ms. Clark declined to give any more information about why the business is closing its doors.
"I can't say anything more than that," Ms. Clark said.
Another employee, reached by phone this morning, declined to identify themselves but said employees received the news that the ambulance service would be closing its doors around 3 p.m. Tuesday.
According to Johnston Ambulance Service's website, the business began operations in 1971 and serves 14 counties in eastern and central North Carolina.
No further information was available as of press time.
