Suspect sought in armed robbery

A second man is now wanted in the July 11 armed robbery of the Handy Mart located at 2495 U.S. 13 North.
Ervin Lee Waters Jr., 19, is wanted by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office on charges of attempted murder, armed robbery, kidnapping and breaking and entering stemming from the armed robbery.
Waters is described as a 5-foot-8-inch tall black male with brown eyes and black hair.
Waters reportedly lives in the Woodside Mobile Home Park off of Tommy's Road.
An employee of the Handy Mart on U.S. 13 North was shot three times during the armed robbery that happened on July 11. The clerk, Jamie Lee, was reportedly forced back inside the store after it closed by three unknown black men and forced into a corner of the store.
Lee was reportedly shot when he attempted to flee the scene of the robbery, being struck three times by bullets from a small caliber handgun.
Waters is the second suspect to be named in the armed robbery.
The other wanted in the robbery case man is Tyquellas Jare Thompson, who is 18 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs 220 pounds and also goes by the name "Ray."
Thompson is also wanted on charges of attempted murder, armed robbery, kidnapping and breaking and entering.
The company that owns the Handy Mart location, E.J. Pope and Son Inc., is offering a $5,000 reward for any tips leading to the arrest of the suspects who allegedly robbed the store and shot the clerk.
This reward is being offered on top of the maximum $1,000 reward offered by Wayne County Crime Stoppers for tips leading to felony arrests.
The investigation into the case is ongoing, and the Wayne County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance in solving the case. Detectives Anthony Mullis and Lt.
