Man shot in leg after being robbed

A man was reportedly shot and robbed by people he was drinking alcohol with at the Serena Inn on Corporate Drive early Sunday morning.
According to a police report, Alfredo Garcia, 26, was drinking with several people at the Serena Inn at 708 Corporate Drive when they began assaulting him and took his belongings around 1 a.m. Sunday morning.
When Garcia tried to flee, the unknown suspects reportedly shot him once in his right thigh, the report on the incident said.
Garcia was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital by a friend, the report said.
Officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to the hospital after being notified that Garcia had arrived with a single gunshot wound, the police report said.
Garcia's wallet, Mexican identification and money were all reportedly taken from him during the alleged assault and robbery.
There are no suspects at this time.
