Wayne County Sheriff's Office deputies were able to stop a reported road rage incident early Sunday morning after a man called Wayne County dispatchers and claimed a Ford Bronco was repeatedly ramming the vehicle he was in.

Deputies were dispatched to a report of road rage in the area of N.C. 111 and Broadhurst Road around 12:50 a.m. Sunday morning.

There were reportedly three people riding in a Buick Lesabre when a burgundy and white Ford Bronco rammed the car at least twice.

One of the people inside the Buick Lesabre reportedly called 911 and followed the Ford Bronco while on the phone with dispatchers.

According to an investigation report filed on the incident with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, deputies brought the reported road rage incident to a halt around the 2000 block of Pineview Cemetery Road.

As a deputy attempted to detain a man inside of the Ford Bronco, a man riding in the Buick Lesabre, which was reportedly the same man that called 911, allegedly ran up to the Ford Bronco and began fighting the man inside the Ford Bronco.

According to the report on the incident, after the man refused to comply with deputies' orders and stop fighting the man inside the Ford Bronco, he was tased.

The report says the man that ran out of the Buick Lesabre and began fighting the man inside the Ford Bronco claimed the two men have a drug history together.

According to the report, the Ford Bronco has visible front and rear damage, while the Buick Lesabre had damage to the front, passenger, rear quarter panel and the drivers side of the vehicle.

Joshua Waters, 25, of 1856 Red Hill Road, Albertson, who was allegedly the man that began fighting with the man inside the Ford Bronco, was charged with resist, delay and obstruct an officer, the report says.

The occupant of the Ford Bronco, Robert Lee Ward, 24, of 129 Cabin Creek Road, Seven Springs, was arrested on five outstanding orders for arrest.

Ward was charged with order for arrest/failure to appear possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts driving while license revoked and two counts no operators license.

Ward was placed in the Wayne County Jail and given a $3,500 secured bond and a $2,000 unsecured bond.
