RALEIGH -- Applications for permitted hunting opportunities, including waterfowl hunts, are now available from the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission.
Sportsmen can obtain applications by visiting the Commission's website at www.ncwildlife.org or by calling 1-888-248-6834. Application deadlines vary, starting in August.
The 2016-17 season offers five new coyote/feral hog hunting opportunities on seven game lands statewide. Permits for these new 3-day hunts provide hunters an opportunity to hunt coyotes and feral hogs at night on Chowan Swamp, Holly Shelter, Suggs Mill Pond, Pee Dee River, R. Wayne Bailey-Caswell, Johns River and Toxaway game lands.
