Beekeepers celebration Aug. 20

The Beekeepers of the Neuse, are hosting "National Honey Bee Day Celebration" on Saturday, Aug. 20 at the Historic Waynesborough Park.
The event is actually "3 in one" events as the park will be featured, the Eastern Carolina Vintage Farm Equipment Club will have a large exhibit and "sell/swap meet" and the beekeepers will be promoting the importance of honey bees in agricultural resources.
It is a family oriented event with food, music, 4-H dance group, a children's "Bee Hive" activities center, a live observation hive of working bees, beekeeping equipment demonstrations and sales, vendors selling beekeeping supplies, upscale crafts,and bees wax candle making demo/participation by a representative from CharlesB. Aycock Birthplace. Hours are from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
