A Faison man was cited for animal cruelty after allegedly leaving his dog in a car in the Walmart parking lot at 1002 N. Spence Ave. Thursday afternoon with no water.
Michael Anthony Foss, 25, of 120 Bill Clifton Road, Faison, was cited for animal cruelty after a customer reported to a Walmart employee that there was a dog inside a car in the parking lot and the dog did not appear to have water.
An employee was told by a customer of the dog that was allegedly left in the car without water, and the employee in turn notified the manager of what the customer told her, and the manager then called the police, according to a police report filed on the incident.
The report says two attempts were made to page the owner of the vehicle the dog was in over the Walmart PA system, but nobody responded to the page.
At 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon, Foss came to the vehicle and was cited for animal cruelty.
